Freestyle guides

The odd and genuinely useful corner of Frendex: queue sitters, workout partners, city buddies and company for hire near you.

The odd corner of Frendex, taken entirely seriously: someone to stand in a queue, a training partner, a friend with a van on moving day, company for an event you would rather not attend alone.

These work exactly like any other booking: an agreed time, an agreed price, a review afterwards. Here we cover how to ask well, and what it is worth paying.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a serious service?

Yes. An agreed time, an agreed price, a review afterwards: the same frame as every other category. The only difference is the tasks, which are the ones there was previously nowhere to turn for, such as standing in a queue, moving day, a training partner, or company for an event.

What should we agree in advance?

The exact time and place, how long it runs, the fee, and what happens if it overruns. If the task is done on someone else behalf, queuing to file paperwork for instance, agree what document or authorisation is needed. That single point stalls more bookings here than anywhere else.

What is a service like this worth?

Think in hourly rates, and in what the saved time is worth to you, or what it is worth not to go alone. Three hours of queuing is well priced when it costs less than those three hours are worth to you.
